ABBS based on Custom Variables
Anti Ballot Box Stuffing (ABBS) based on Custom Variables feature prevents a user from taking multiple responses to a survey.
How to enable ABBS based on Custom Variables feature?
To enable ABBS based on Custom Variables on a survey, follow the steps below:
- Go to Survey >> Edit >> Settings
- Select the second radio button under Multiple Responding
- Switch the "Use a custom variable to identify responses" toggle ON
- Select the custom variable from the dropdown on which you have to enable ABBS
- Click on Save Changes.
Background Processing (for better understanding):
- ABBS is triggered when the survey is completed for the first time. If respondents start the survey but do not complete it, they can still access it by clicking the link they received via email.
- Just to reiterate, the link will be disabled once the respondent completes the survey. If they complete the survey and try to access the same link again, they will get an error message as displayed below:
- If the respondent answered the survey with the help of custom variable attached survey link in a browser window and then tries to access the same link again with the same or different custom variable data, without closing the previous browser window, they will get the same error message as above.
