Literalist: Meaning that these are all historical events, preserved by man, guided by God, and should always be interpreted literally, with little accommodation for my or anyone else’s interpretation.
 
Interpretist: Meaning that these are historical events, or God inspired stories, documented by man and guided by God, and that there may be instances when message may be more important the literal story.
