You are being invited to participate in a research study on the effects of musical lyrics on appeal in emerging adult populations. All participants in this study must be 18 years or older. If you agree to participate in this study, you will be asked to fill out a pre-test survey for demographic information, then exposed to musical lyrics. Afterwards, you will be asked to fill out a survey to assess changes in appeal. There is no potential psychological risks associated with participating in this study and all records in this study will be kept confidential. No identifying information will be collected, and no attempts will be made to identify participants. Further, only the researchers will have access to the data. In any sort of report that is published or presented based on data from this study, no information will be shared that would make it possible to identity a participant. Participation in this study is completely voluntary, and you are free to withdraw at any time. Choosing not to participate, or to withdraw will not have any negative effect on your current or future relations with Hood College, or any of its representatives.
