The survey is about considering the ways to sustain the preventive measures of Chikungunya mosquito bites after the outbreak of the vector-borne disease in Mauritius in 2005-2006.

According to the case study: Assessing the sustainability of individual behavior change against Mosquitoes after the outbreak of a vector-borne disease in Mauritius. (Internet Journal of Medical Update, 2013), there has been a decline in the sustainability of the preventive measures from individuals in the next two years following the outbreak.

Therefore, this survey is being conducted to assess the ways to prevent the barriers of the preventive measures sustainability against the chikungunya disease among the Mauritian population. Therefore, i would request you to take some minutes from your schedule to fill in the survey with an appropriate and genuine attitude.

People don't have enough time
 
Due to the absence of the epidemic, people are being ignorant and careless

Due to fashion trends and concerns, people don't want to wear long trousers and long sleeved shirts.

* Your medical screening if ever you were traveling back to Mauritius from abroad.
* Use of bed nets
* Wearing long sleeved shirts and long trousers while going out to high mosquito - presence places.

The government should organize monthly campaigns to remind the populations about the improvement or changes of the preventive measures.
 
Regular Sanitary and health officers visits in houses to check if all mandatory preventive measures are being taken appropriately.
 
The government should be more strict on taking fines from those who are not not taking necessary preventive measures at the right time.
 
Online Campaigns through social networking sites like Facebook and twitter.
 
The government should provide necessary equipments including anti mosquito bites creams, bed nets to needy people.
