Welcome to the first survey about updating Seattle Public Schools’ strategic plan! As a member of the SPS community, your voice is essential. Thank you for candid responses that help us make smart decisions.
Strategic Planning Overview
In June 2008, the Seattle School Board voted to adopt a five-year strategic plan,
Excellence for All
.* As the fifth year comes to a close, the Board has directed the Superintendent to develop an updated version to guide the District for the next three-to- five years.
Survey Overview
This survey will focus on your prior and/or current experiences with Excellence for All. It will ask you to share your:
• Perceptions of the current plan.
• Assessment of what progress has or has not been made over the last five years.
• Level of involvement and feelings of connection with the plan when it was developed and as it has been implemented.
• Assessment of community perception of and involvement with the current plan.
The survey should take 5-10 minutes to complete and is anonymous unless you choose to provide your name. The survey opens on February 20th and will close on February 27th. We want to hear from everyone, so please spread the word and complete it as soon as possible. We will produce a summary of the results to share with the community.

Excellence for All’s Vision
At Seattle Public Schools (SPS), we see a city where:
• All students achieve at high levels, receive the support they need and leave high school prepared for college, career and life;
• Every school is a high quality school;
• District leadership and staff model excellence and accountability; and
• The whole community is engaged as partners in supporting and strengthening the school system.
Excellence for All’s Milestones
Our milestones include:
• Students Ready for Kindergarten.
