The new version of the journal Poudres & Grains is now working since 1999 ; I think it is time to make the assessment of the work, to know whether it shall continue or not; By the way I am also getting old and AEMMG should need some further help and further manager to continue this work.
I believe this is a unique edition principia for a journal of an association. I believe it is quite usefull for bringing some real freedom to the technical literature. And the authors who used it know and appreciate this freedom. But they are not so numerous. and there is a problem of reviewing, probably because the readers did not like so much to write when they find a mistake….
As it was one of the main action of the AEMMG, (beside that of bringing us the opportunity to meet each 4 years around Powders & Grains meeting), I believe that a real exchange time shall be given to the discussion about the journal during the meeting, both about its scientific content and about its goal and its futur.
I would say that I would need half an hour to present the work, during a plenary session;
probably we will need also ½ hour to discuss scientific results which are already published. |
