PSU Modernist Studies Workshop Planning Survey 2011-2012

Welcome to the 2011-2012 iteration of the Modernist Studies Workshop (MSW) here at PSU! In order to provide a better sense of what sorts of events and activities would be popular among group members (both current and prospective), please complete the following brief survey by Friday, September 2. All of the information collected is completely anonymous and will be used solely to plan for the upcoming academic year. We wish you a great start to the semester, and we look forward to seeing you at many MSW events this year!

How interested would you be in participating in a primary source reading group (novels, poetry, plays, et cetera)?

How interested would you be in participating in a secondary source reading group (theory, literary criticism, historical background information)?

How interested would you be in participating in a combined nineteenth- and twentieth-century reading group?

How interested would you be in participating in a twentieth-century poetry reading group?

How interested would you be in participating in a draft workshop, in which members share excerpts of seminar papers or articles in progress?

How interested would you be in participating in a research workshop, in which one member presents her or his current research ideas to the group for feedback? If yes, would you be interested in presenting, offering feedback, or both?

How interested would you be in participating in a modernist film night, in which members gather to watch a film and socialize at one member's house?

How interested would you be in attending a faculty talk in which a Penn State English professor gives a brief overview of her or his work in progress and brings an excerpt to share and discuss? How interested would you be in attending a faculty talk related to professionalization (publishing, life on the tenure track, the job market)?
