Hello,

You are invited to participate in our survey on Organizational Citizenship Behavior in the workplace.

You will find a few open-ended questions about behaviors that you may or may not experience at your workplace. Please be as thorough (detailed) with your responses as you can, because every little bit helps our research. There are no right or wrong answers to these questions; each person may have a different view or experience at their own workplace. The survey should take no more than ten minutes, and since there are only a few questions, please take the time to think hard about each of them when considering your response.

Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. There are no foreseeable risks associated with this project. However, if you feel uncomfortable answering any questions, you can withdraw from the survey at any point. It is very important for us to learn your opinions.

Your survey responses will be strictly confidential and data from this research will be reported only in the aggregate. Your information will be coded and will remain confidential. If you have questions at any time about the survey or the procedures, you may contact Dr. Gabrenya by email at [email protected].

Thank you very much for your time and support. Please start with the survey now by clicking on the Continue button below.

At your job, you have a number of behaviors that support the “technical core” of your job (for example, completing tasks on time and working in groups to complete interdependent tasks). However, this “technical core” must functions in a social and psychological environment. For example, employees need to finish tasks (“technical core”), but sometimes they have more work than they can handle, so behaviors that improve the social/psychological environment would help this person complete his/her task. Please list and explain any behaviors that support this social and psychological environment that you perform while at work.

Answer the following question as you believe your supervisor would answer (and if you are a supervisor, then answer with your own thoughts). Also, please list as many things as you can and explain them as best you can. What kinds of things do you like to have your subordinates do, but you know that you can’t actually force them to do it, can’t promise any tangible rewards for doing it, and can’t punish them for not doing it?
