In keeping with its responsibilities, the Information Security Oversight Office (ISOO) continues to evaluate the effectiveness of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) in establishing an integrated and cohesive program that safeguards classified information while preserving the Nation’s economic and technological interests. The objectives of this survey are to evaluate adherence to program goals and objectives, asses industry's perceptions and attitudes toward the NISP, identify systemic problems, and provide solutions to those problems. initiatives associated with the National Industrial
Security Program (NISP).

goals and objectives of the NISP.
* 5. In 1994, Executive Order 12829 established the NISP, with hopes
for a single, integrated industrial security program based on sound
threat analysis and risk management practices. DoD became the
executive agent and the processes described in the NISPOM were
concurred by the Secretary of Energy, the Chairman of the Nuclear
Regulatory Commission and the Director of Central Intelligence.
