1. Hello:
You are invited to participate in our survey LED STREETLIGHTING IN MCD.Due to revolution in LED technology LED can be used as streetlight Luminary. LED has advantages over conventional High Pressure Sodium Lamps(HPSV) like
•Lower power consumption as compared to HPSV by 50%
•Color of object seen in LED light is fresh, real and comfortable
•Color temperature is comfortable
•No light pollution
•Environmental friendly Contains no mercury ,lead etc
•Less green house gases generation
•Have low maintenance cost as life span of led is 50,000 hrs while HPSV has 10,000 hrs Hence low maintenance cost.
•No harmful glare as compared to HPSV lamps
As the LED is in introductory stage it has high cost compared to HPSV lamps but cost can be reduced on bulk purchase. LED streetlight installation has gained momentum in developed countries and in India too Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has initiated this project.
MCD spends roughly 150 crore on streetlight bills.With the use of LED streetlights MCD can save up to 75 crore public money apart from environmental benefits. This will also bring down the electricity demand, reduce load shedding, and purchase of costly power during peak load.
With above benefits in mind MCD is deciding for pilot project .Your views will be important in taking decisions for installation of LEDS.
Project Description Here]. In this survey, approximately 300 Approximate Respondents people will be asked to complete a survey that asks questions about your views on LED.It will take approximately 15 Approximate Time minutes to complete the questionnaire.
Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. There are no foreseeable risks associated with this project. However, if you feel uncomfortable answering any questions, you can withdraw from the survey at any point. It is very important for us to learn your opinions.
