WHAT ARE ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES?
Electronic cigarettes, also known as smokeless cigarettes, e-cigarettes, or e-cigs, are tobacco-free devices that often look like traditional tobacco cigarettes. Except the devices don’t require a match and produce no flame or tobacco smoke at all. They are battery-powered devices that convert liquid flavouring into a mist, or vapor, which the user inhales. There is no second-hand smoke. No one close by would likely smell anything at all.
The user can obtain liquid cartridges for the e-cigarette with various amounts of nicotine (from zero nicotine to high dosages of nicotine). The liquid is often flavoured (such as vanilla, strawberry, coffee or chocolate), and also contains propylene glycol (a solvent) and other additives. |
