You are invited to participate in our effort the score the Major Initiatives that comprise our roadmap. In this effort, members of the Agency will be asked to complete a survey that asks you to score each major initiative against a set of prioritization criteria. It will take approximately 30 minutes to complete the scoring.

Your participation in this study is critical. The data from this scoring will be used to rank major initiatives. The roadmap currently contains 25 initiatives.  Prioritizing these initiatives will assist with strategic decisions regarding the roadmap.

You are allocated 100 points per initiative.  Think of these points as dollars. You may distribute these 100 dollars based on your judgement about how much value the initiative brings to each of the following 6 prioritization criteria:

1. Provides positive cost/benefit - How much does the initiative benefit our mission?  How does the benefit compare favorably to cost?
2. Integrates disparate data - How much does it integrate data from different sources that we need to meet our objectives?
3. Increases operational control - How much does it improve our ability to make decisions and execute against those decisions?
4. Improves efficiency - How much does it help us deliver more with the same or fewer resources?
5. Improves operational flexibility - How much does it improve our ability to respond to changes in our environment?
6. Improves enterprise visibility - How much does it improve our awareness of all the ongoing activities in our organization?

3. Entry Level Driver Training Program

10. Correlation Study

Section 5221 of the FAST Act requires the FMCSA Administrator to commission the National Research Council of the National Academies to conduct a study of the Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) program and the Safety Measurement System (SMS) utilized by the CSA program.

20. Medical Examiner's Certficiation Integration (NR II)

Beginning June 22, 2018, FMCSA will electronically transfer MEC information for Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP)/Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) holders and medical variance information for CMV drivers as a pass-through from the National Registry to the State Driver Licensing Agencies (SDLAs), eliminating the need for paper MECs for CLP/CDL drivers and reducing the incidence of fraudulent MECs while allowing authorized State and Federal enforcement officials to view the most current and accurate information regarding the medical status of the CMV driver, all information on the MEC, any medical variance information (if applicable), and the issued and expiration dates.
