Health-care service robots are robots which perform useful services to humans such as treatment of the illness, being especially considered in cases of dementia, or other psychopathological disease.

“Dementia is a non-specific syndrome in which affected areas of brain function may be affected, such as memory, language, problem solving and attention. The symptoms of dementia are: memory loss: the patient forgets his way back home, forget to take the medicine, forget the names of the family members. Moodiness: the part of the brain becomes more moody and cannot control the emotions. They feel anxiety and frightening. The patients have communicative difficulties, they forget to write and speak logically and correctly. The patient cannot look after himself.”

Forecasts predict that in 2050 the population aged 65-85 will be 3 times larger than it is now. The older population (60+) will be approximate 20% of the whole population. The nurses and the places in the hospitals won’t be enough for all the population.
