Organisational socialisation or onboarding is the process of helping new employees (and therefore new graduate hires) adjust to the social and performance aspects of their new occupations quickly and effectively. This takes into account various phases which considers the progressive transition and development of graduates from pre-employment, through their first month of employment, and to the successful completion of their first few years. Graduate Development Programmes (GDPs) and Internships are so designed to aid in the socialisation of new hire graduates.
