This past season’s competition schedule consists of five competitions. Two of the events were 2-day nationals and three were 1-day local events. Would you like to see more or fewer competitions on our schedule for next season?

Five is right, don’t change what we have

For the 2016-17 season we are strongly considering taking one (or more, but not all) of our teams to a ‘destination competition.’ The event that we are considering is the UCA International Allstar Championships at Disney World in Orlando, FL on March 11-12, 2017. While this event features some of the top teams in the world, it also has a distinct Small Gyms Division and gives our athletes an opportunity to be competitive and to compete with teams from other countries. Included in their competition fee is a 3-Day Park Hopper pass to the Disney Parks. Competition fees are expected to be about $100 more than a standard 2-day national event. Parent and sibling Park Hoppers are also made available for a sizeable discounted price.

Are you crazy? Traveling to Disney for a kids’ cheer competition is over the top

We understand that it has been a tough year for viruses and kids getting sick. Aside from illness, we also recognize that attendance at team practices has been a concern for each of the teams throughout the season. Are you in favor of a more strict attendance policy for the upcoming year, including minimum requirements for summer training and team practices?

Yes, it needs to be more strict if we are going to get better and be competitive

Yes, it needs to be more strict, but we still need some flexibility for other reasons
