Purpose:
The purpose of this research project is to determine the effectiveness of the Clery Act in measuring the safety of a college/university for minority groups. You are invited to participate in this research project because you are involved in your campuses LGBT organization. Your participation in this research study is voluntary.

Procedure:
The procedure involves filling an online survey that will take approximately 30 minutes. Your responses will be confidential and we do not collect identifying information such as your name, email address or IP address. The survey questions will be about your experience at your college/university in general, and specifically if you have ever experienced any bias.

Benefits/Risks to Participant:
If you have personally faced bias or been a victim of a hate crime, this survey will potentially ask you to answer questions relating to that event. If you are not comfortable answering these questions, you should not participate in the survey. However, the results of this survey will be used to hopefully improve you college/universities capacity to deal with hate crimes.

Voluntary Nature of the Study/Confidentiality:
Your participation in this survey is entirely voluntary and you may refuse to complete the survey at any point during the process, or refuse to answer any questions with which you are uncomfortable. Your name will never be connected to your results or to your responses on the survey. The data will only be accessible to those working on the project. The results will be made available to the colleges/universities participating in the survey, but will not identify any individuals.
