Hello,
I have a survey that covers honeybees (Apis mellifera). It asks questions regarding bees, urban beekeeping, and Colony Collpase Disorder. CCD has been decimating honeybee hives in the United States since 2006. In a nutshell, the phenomonom occurs when worker bees from a beehive abruptly disappear. CCD is significant economically because of the many agricultural crops pollinated by bees. A good example for California is the pollination of the Almond crop. 750,000 acres of almond trees are pollinated by over 1 million hives. That's 40 billion bees!
