ASI Europe Convention 2011 - WORKSHOPS

LEADING TO A DECISION FOR CHRIST
Dan Millares, Bible Worker, Swedish Union

Dan will share his experience in personal evangelism and Bible Work in Sweden. He will testify that the challenge of a secularized society and a growing un-churched population demands more than ever a full reliance on the guidens of the Holy Spirit and faithfulness to the Word of God in our efforts to reach people. You´ll get practical tips on how you personally can cooperate with the spirit of God to be more effective in leading people to a decision for Christ. You’ll also be inspired by the many testimonies of change life’s through the simple studying of the Bible.

Dan Millares (Sweden) has been working as a Bible worker in Sweden for the past four years after graduating from ARISE Institute. He has conducted several evangelism campaigns as well as led a number of people through studies to decisions for baptism. Dan has hosted several Bible study series as a speaker at LifeStyleTV.

SCIENCE VERSUS FAITH
Dr. Rivelino Montenegro, Chief Technology Officer, Medovent GmbH, Mainz/Germany

This workshop aims to shine light on some of the most apparent “absurd” texts of the Bible using scientific tools. During the talk it will be shown how much the modern scientific development has helped to proof that in fact the Bible is not a “crazy” book at all. Does it make sense to believe in a global flood? Is it possible for humans to live 900 years as mentioned in the Bible? What came first the chicken or the egg? And other questions will be discussed during this workshop.

Rivelino Montenegro holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry and conducts research in the following areas: nanotechnology, medical devices, natural polymers and biomimetics. He has already given many interviews and written papers that show how the modern scientific development supports the biblical text and the Christian faith.

WOW TO WITNESS TO A JEWISH PERSON
Richard Elofer, Director of the General Conference Office of Adventist Mission - World Jewish Adventist Friendship Center, Israel

If you want to witness that Jesus is the Messiah you have to know how to speak with Jews. Which words to use and which words not to use? What are the Christian prejudices towards Jews? And what are the Jewish prejudices towards the Christians? What attract Jews to Jesus and what are the hindrances? All these kind of questions will be touched in this workshop.

Richard Elofer worked for the church 33 years: 18 years as a pastor in France, as an administrator for 14 years and as president of the Israel field and director for the Jewish Study Center at the General Conference.
