English is present in Pakistanis’ lives in many ways. However, there has been very little research into Pakistanis’ experiences with English and their opinions about it. By filling in this questionnaire, you have the opportunity to share your views and experiences of the English language. This questionnaire is addressed to all Pakistanis. For an accurate general view, it is of utmost importance that you respond to this questionnaire whether you know English well or poorly. All responses are equally important.
Background: This survey is being carried out for the purposes of my Bachelors thesis in the field of English Linguistics in the University of Bonn in Germany. It aims at providing new information about the attitudes of the Pakistani society towards the increasing use of English in spoken language, particularly in Urdu. The survey results will be helpful in understanding the language situation in Pakistan.
Confidentiality:
Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. There are no foreseeable risks associated with this project. However, if you feel uncomfortable answering any questions, you can withdraw from the survey at any point. Your survey responses will be strictly confidential and data from this research will be reported only in the aggregate. Your information will be coded and will remain confidential.
