Dear Participant:

My name is Tenissa Tjahjono. I am a student at the University of Leicester in the English
Department. You are being invited to take part in a research study on L2 speakers’ perception
of a variety of British English accent.

This research will require about 5-10 minutes of your time. During this time, you will be
asked to listen to a variety of British English accent, followed by answering a few questions
regarding the accent. There are no identified risks from participating in this reseach.

Your responses for this questionnaire will remain anonymous. Participation in this research is
completely voluntary and you may refuse to participate without consequence and you may
withdraw from the study at any time for any reason.
